Back by popular demand! Athens Services, the City’s refuse and recycling service provider, is bringing back a nutrient rich organic compost-mulch blend that is very suitable for Southern California’s climate.
The giveaway event will take place at Lacy Park in the Transfer Area located near the St. Albans Road entrance. The drive-through event will begin at 9AM on Saturday, April 30th, 2017.
Residents who would like to pick up some compost to fertilize their yards and gardens should bring their own container and tools such as a shovel or pitch fork. A 30-gallon limit will be observed during the first hour. After 10AM, there is no limit to the amount of compost a person may take while supplies last.
