This camp, held at Stoneman School,
is specialized for 2 to 5 year olds. Your child will have fun
exploring different themes through stories, arts and crafts,
organized games and water play. “Too Cool” Two’s will need to
wear disposable swim diapers. Children need to come dressed in
their swimsuits and ready for fun! This is a monthly program.

Summer Aquatics -
The Summer Aquatics program at San Marino offers recreational
swim and other aquatics activities conducted at the San Marino
High School pool. In addition to different levels of swim
instruction classes offered (see descriptions below), private
lessons, recreational swim, lap swim and a Junior Lifeguard
program are also available during the summer.
Level Descriptions
Whale Tales
– An introductory class for moms and dads and their infants and
toddlers. We help get them used to being in the water as well as
introduce them to things like blowing bubbles, arm circles and
kicking. Students must be at least 18 months old, and
parent/adult accompaniment in the water is required.
Tiny Tots
– An introductory class for infants and toddlers to get them
used to being in the water without their mom or dad. Beginning
skills are introduced.
Level 1
– Children should be comfortable in the water without their
parents. We work on putting their face in the water, bobbing
while holding onto the wall, gliding on front and back
(supported), jumping in from the wall, kicking on front and back
(with kickboard) and introducing alternating arm action.
Level 2
– This course covers the same skills as Level 1, but students
are more on their own. Children should be able to perform the
skills in Level 1 on their own by the end of the session.
Level 3
– In order to enter Level 3, children should be able to swim
across the pool on their fronts and backs unsupported. We work
on front and back crawl (with breathing to front or side),
elementary backstroke, kneeling and compact dive, and introduce
side breathing.
Level 4
– In order to enter Level 4, children should be able to perform
the skills taught in Level 3 on their own. We work on deep water
bobs, standing dive, elementary backstroke, front and back
crawl, breaststroke (with and without kickboard), and introduce
sidestroke.
Level 5
– In order to enter Level 5, children should be able to perform
the skills taught in Level 4 on their own, and should be able to
swim the long length (deep end) of the pool. We work on
elementary backstroke, front and back crawl, breaststroke,
sidestroke and butterfly (kick).
Level 6
– Stroke refinement.

Tsunamis -
The Tsunami Swim Team is a competitive swim team for swimmers
who are water safe in deep water and possess one or more
competitive strokes. Daily workouts are held at the San Marino
High School pool and include stroke mechanics and build-up of
endurance and speed. Swimmers participate in USA swimming
competitions. Beginners must know at least two strokes and be
completely water safe. Team members must provide their own
swimsuit, fins, sweatshirts, pants, towel, goggles and swim cap.
Paddles are optional.
The Junior Tsunami Swim Team is an entry-level swim team for
children who are deep water safe and possess one or more of the
competitive strokes. Students are taught all of the four
competitive strokes and are introduced to the world of
competitive swimming. Visit the Tsunamis website at:
