Thurnher House

The historic Thurnher House is located at the front entrance of beautiful Lacy Park (1485 Virginia Road). The structure features a beautiful tiled roof, graceful arches and quaint patio areas.  Built in 1929, the house currently serves as a community meeting place.  

 

The Thurnher House can accommodate gatherings of up to 20 people. The facility offers a large conference room featuring a working fireplace and furnished with a conference table that seats up to 20 people. Also available for use is a small meeting room that seats up to eight people. An adjacent kitchen offers users a convenient place to heat and serve refreshments. The history of Lacy Park comes alive inside the Thurnher House, as depicted on the walls throughout the facility

 

Meeting rooms are available at no charge to all San Marino community groups. The rooms are not available for private functions. To reserve a meeting room, please complete a Facility Use Application (download here) and return it to the Recreation Department.

San Marino Center

The San Marino Center, formerly known as the San Marino Woman’s Club, is home to many of the City’s recreation classes. It is located at 1800 Huntington Drive. The San Marino Center is also available to the community to rent for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other special events.

 

The City of San Marino purchased the San Marino Center in early 2005. The facility is being managed by the Recreation Department until such time when it is needed as a temporary location for the San Marino Public Library.

Stoneman School

Stoneman School is home to the City’s Recreation Department. It is located on the northwest corner of Huntington Drive and Granada Avenue. The address of Stoneman School is 1560 Pasqualito Drive. Visitors should use the driveway and parking lot located off Huntington Drive.

 

A variety of activities take place at Stoneman School before and after school. Recreation classes, day care, homework assistance and supervised games are just a few of the many activities offered. Children participating in activities at Stoneman School can be transported there from their San Marino elementary school by A&B Bus Company buses and drivers. Recreation staff accompanies children during the ride. Once at Stoneman, children are supervised by After School Recreation Day Care staff and Recreation class instructors.
